There are
countless diet pills on the market that promise rapid weight loss with very
little effort on your part and Adiphene is one of them. The question is does it
really work? Can Adiphene help you lose weight?
First,
let’s see what Adiphene actually is.
Adiphene is
a supplement that contains 5 different types of ingredients
Bitter
orange is thought to be the best substitute for the ingredient ephedra and can
also help suppress appetite.
Chromium
picolinate can increase insulin sensitivity.
Guarana
Extract is rich in caffeine and increases energy levels and mental alertness.
Ginseng
panax root extract aids carbohydrate metabolism and can stabilize blood sugar
levels.
Cacao
extract increases the metabolism of fats and is thought to inhibit fat storage.
Thermogenic/
Metabolism-Boosting
Cinnamon
extract, which apart from slightly increasing metabolic rate, can also reduce
insulin resistance and control blood glucose levels.
Cayenne capsicum helps the body burn more
calories by producing heat and forcing the body to consume energy to cool
itself down. It also allows the active ingredients of Adiphene to reach their
destination inside the body.
Fat
metabolizers
The product
contains 3 fat metabolizers: Ginger Root Extract, Vitamin B6 and L-carnitine
HCL.
Fat Binders
Chitosan reduces
the absorption of dietary fats, by binding to them and carrying them through
the digestive system.
Appetite
suppressant
Glucomannan,
also known as Konjac root, is an appetite suppressant, which absorbs water and
fills the stomach giving you a feeling of satiety.
So, What
Does All This Mean?
It means
that Adiphene makes some interesting claims. It promises to boost your
metabolism, give you more energy, reduce fat absorption, increase fat burning
and help you eat less. Are these claims true?
Unfortunately,
the issue is more complicated than that. Let’s take metabolism, for example.
Even though, Adiphene does contain ingredients that have been proven to
increase metabolic rate, the effect is actually negligible. At most, you may be
able to burn a few dozen extra calories per day. If you really want to increase
your metabolism, you need to exercise more.
The same
goes for fat-metabolizers. The ingredients may slightly facilitate fat burning
once it occurs, but fat burning won’t even begin, if you are not in a calorie
deficit.
There are 2
ingredients, however, that have the potential to be effective for losing
weight. These ingredients are Chitosan and Glucomannan.
Chitosan
Chitosan can
limit fat absorption in the body. This means that even though you eat fats,
these calories “don’t count”, because they simply pass through without getting
absorbed. However, you need to keep in mind that Chitosan only bind a
percentage of the dietary fats you consume, so it doesn’t give you permission
to eat unlimited amounts of fats or calories.
Glucomannan
This is by
fat the most effective ingredient of Adiphene that is also backed by science. In
one study lasting 16 weeks that involved 200 overweight and obese subjects; it
was found that glucomannan has the ability increased satiety. The participants
were divided in 3 groups: the first one was taking a mixture of psyllium seed
husks (3g), the second 1 gram
of glucomannan twice daily and third was the placebo group. The groups lost, 9.96 lbs and 10.14 lbs respectively on
average, and the control group only lost 1.75 lbs.
Adiphene
does contain ingredients that can speed up the weight loss process. If you
combine it with a moderately hypo-caloric diet and some kind of exercise, you
can get much faster results.
