The 4 Cycle Fat Loss Solution by Shaun Hadsall is a program designed to help you lose fat
as fast and as effortlessly as possible. The 4 cycles of the system are:
Cycle 1: 7
Day Carb Depletion Diet
Carb are
either burned for energy or stored in the muscles as glycogen. In rare cases
they may even convert to fat through a process called de novo lipogenesis. This
happens if you eat large amounts of carbs or if you lead a very sedentary
lifestyle that prevents you from burning carbs for energy. The 7 Day Carb
Depletion Diet will help you empty your glycogen stores, which will force the
body to start draining energy from body fat. The only problem with the carb
depletion diet is that after a while this eating regime can greatly suppress
your thyroid hormones and leptin levels. For this reason this phase lasts for
only a week. During this cycle you are going to be eating meals rich in
protein, vegetables and healthy fats, but very little starch at the end of the
week and no alcohol. Even though fats are allowed, it would be a good idea to
limit your intake of nuts and nut butter, due to their calorie density.
Cycle 2:
Macro-Patterning
In this
phase you are going to re-introduce carbs in your eating regime, but you will
be taught the right way to prepare them, combine them and time them, so as to
optimize your hormones and maximize fat loss. Macro-Patterning will prevent the
muscle loss that would occur, if you followed a low-carb diet for an extended
period of time.
Cycle 3:
Accelerated Fat Loss
This phase
has 3 high-carb days, which will regulate your metabolic rate. This cycle
manipulated glycogen, blood sugar, nitrogen levels and calories.
Cycle 4:
The Diet Break
In this
cycle, which lasts for 2 weeks, you will finally have a break from the diet.
This means that you will be able to increase your calorie intake and start
drinking alcohol again in small amounts.
